An Introduction

Hello.  My name is Peter Lockman.  I am from Souderton, Pennsylvania, which is about an hour north of Philadelphia.  I am a freshman with an intended major in cello performance.  For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for music.  Being able to express my personal views and expressions of music through an instrument that, I feel, is similar to the human voice is one of the several reasons I have chosen to pursue a higher education in cello.

My name is...

Hello to the ones I have not yet met, my name is Peter Kim and I am a freshmen this year. I am from Greenwood, Indiana, which is about an hour drive from here and graduated from Center Grove High School. I am really excited about this year and to be able to work with everyone and especially learn so much from everyone! My intended major is cello performance and maybe another major in science in route to dental school. The best part of being a cellist is to be able to play the cello and say that you play the cello. The varieties of style and music one can perform on the cello is so vast and it excites me to know that Dr. Edberg is a master of improv and I can not wait to learn more from him and just where cello can lead me in life! It is a pleasure meeting everyone!

Lessons W 8/28, R 8/29, F 8/30

After you've had your lesson, post a comment here about the most important things you learned in the lesson.

Welcome to the Cello Class blog. Now introduce yourselves!

This is our studio blog for the this semester. (We've done this in the somewhat distant past, and it worked very well.)

This is a place for you to reflect on what you learned in your lesson, in studio class, and elsewhere, and to share with your peers for discussion.  We can also post videos and comment on them, cello news, etc.

Since we have so many new students, let's start out by each of you introducing yourself.  Where are you from, what is your (intended) major, and what do you love most about being a cellist?
